I don't know what it is about this year in particular, but the fashion gods have been working overtime. Whilst I have been snooping at the new season goodies, I am pleasantly surprised by what's on offer and as expected, my wishlist has been growing exponentially.
So whilst I convince myself not to buy every piece (send a prayer) here is my edit for the autumn/winter season. Featuring a handful of elevated basics, classic autumnal staples and standout pieces from H&M and M&S to The Outnet and Ganni.
Autumnal tones are inevitably everywhere this season and whilst these pieces are somewhat expected for fall, they have a certain ‘je ne sais quoi’.
Practical outerwear is a necessity for this time of year in the UK. The M&S trench comes in under £70 and is incredibly chic (yes I am weak-willed and already purchased it). This berry-toned padded Barbour coat is an Alexa Chung Collaboration, and not dissimilar to everything she touches, isn’t it Phenomenal?
The striped jumper from COS is admittedly living rent-free in my mind (it will be mine…). Alongside are these wool-blend trousers in a beautiful oatmeal tone from Arket; It's giving cosy autumnal ‘Gilmore Girls’ vibes.
If you like something you buy it in every colour, right? My love for Onitsuka Tiger trainers continues, I have a pair of the Mexico 66 in the barley and navy colourway and they are a firm favourite of mine. This new colourway in Green Mantle and cream is perfect for this season. The loafers from M&S I purchased last year are leather, but this suede version is a great way to incorporate this season's trend into your wardrobe.
I’m finishing this segment with an earthy, stone bead necklace from &Other Stories, a perfect tonal accessory for the season.
Starting with two great finds from The Outnet, the snake-print leather jacket is from Stand Studio, perfect for over a plain tee to add interest to your outfit. The second is a printed quilt jacket from Antik Batik, a beautiful piece to add to your outerwear wardrobe.
Moving onto a few stand-out pieces from M&S. First up is these lace-tie jeans, this subtle detail adds so much to a staple item. The leopard print shirt is a great trend piece, perfect for the office or a cheeky cocktail (it’s advised not to mix the two). Keeping on the theme of earthy-toned jewellery, these teardrop earrings in resin are a beautiful piece.
Lastly is this great pair of snake-print ballet pumps from H&M. Style with no other pattern, poking out from under a pair of jeans or wool trousers. Keep an eye out for restocks of these as they sell out quickly!
It wouldn't be an edit from me without a striped shirt. This blue and berry stripe number is from Monki and would be a great layering piece. Pair with these tie-waist trousers from H&M for an effortless look.
Another find from The Outnet is this pair of leather mules from Malene Birger; so chic and so perfect. Pair with these two-in-one trousers from COS. The overlayed skirt effect is one of a kind.
Another stunning knitwear piece, this time from Ganni. Hand-knitted it comes with a higher price tag, but this would be a beautiful piece to style whilst keeping you cosy.
Lastly, we have this amazing pair of glass-blown earrings from Roslyn Studio; featured in our latest ‘on our radar’ piece. These are little pieces of wearable art. The long pendant necklaces have started showing up in my feed and this little piece from H&M would be a great way to try out the trend.
