Editors Letter - Dec 23
As the year draws to a close we can only briefly look back before plans for the year ahead start to roll out. For me, 2023 has been a year of gratitude, change, at times; uncertainty and a chance to self-reflect. ‘A year in training’ is how this year will be bookmarked.
Launching AYW has undoubtedly been a rewarding process and creative outlet. I look forward to continuing with this project next year and seeing where it leads!
A huge thank you to all who have made these last few months possible; the talented contributors who have given so much of their time to be a part of our AYW team, the continued enthusiasm and support from my beautiful friends and family and thank you to my Husband who this year, has supported me through tough decisions and guiding me out my comfort zone. Lastly, I am so grateful for this little community we have built along the way!
Whether your year has been full of hard challenges, uncomfortable changes or a year of achievements and positivity, We should take a moment of appreciation. With that in mind, let us get ready for an exciting new year ahead! I hope the start of your 2024 is filled with new opportunities, fun and a good cocktail in hand to celebrate!
EDITORS PICKS
M&S - LEATHER LOAFERS - BUY
A dupe for The Row loafers, these Marks and Spencers pair are top of my wish list. At a cost of £49.50 they are a good price but hard to get a hold of. I will be checking my local stores in hopes of finding a pair!
THE FRANKIE SHOP - ASYMMETRICAL TROUSERS - BUY
Asymmetrical trousers have been on my style board for a while now. Not wanting to splurge on an Acne Studio pair these Frankie Shop trousers are the perfect compromise.
ARKET - CURVED SHOULDER BAG - BUY
I may have fallen hard for the Red trend this season. This slouchy bag from Arket is perfect if you are looking to add a pinch of interest to an outfit. I love the adjustable strap to wear cross-body or over the shoulder!
WEAR IT WELL - ALLISON BORNSTEIN - BUY
Allison Bornstein is a stylist loved by the fashion community. Allison has coined a few terms you may have heard floating around, such as ‘The Wrong Shoe Theory’ and ‘The 3 Word Method’. This book is filled with styling tips and further insights to help with your styling woes. I am looking forward to digging into this read!
