Autumn Glow Guide

Glazed doughnut nails, glass skin, glossy eyes and lips. We have been seeing these buzzwords all over the place, leading us to one certain conclusion; the glossier the makeup, the better! Riding along with the quiet luxury aesthetic, the latest beauty trends point more and more in the same direction. We are heading to a more natural, healthier, effortless, and cleaner makeup look. Fresh, dewy makeup isn’t just for the summer months! As the cold creeps in we need to pay close attention to those extra steps.

Today, we’re breaking down techniques and products that will help you achieve this ethereal makeup look and get one step closer to nailing the trend.

Moisturize! Moisturize! Moisturize!

What is glowy if not deeply hydrated and moisturized skin? With that being said, prepping the skin is certainly the first crucial step to this makeup routine in order to receive the products that are about to settle in.

You should simply cleanse your face as you normally would, and apply your favourite moisturizer, the one you already know goes well with your skin type. This step will not only make the makeup products sit better on your skin but also make them last longer! So, when in doubt, moisturize! 💧

P.S. DON’T FORGET TO WEAR YOUR SUNSCREEN- EVEN DURING THE WINTER MONTHS 😉

Glowy Drops

Once the face is already hydrated, we’re moving on to priming. But in this case, not just any primer, but an illuminating primer, or, as I like to call them, Glowy Drops ✨. These are products that already have a very subtle, but significant, reflective effect to them that can be noticed even through the foundation, ultimately leaving that glowy finish.

Face Paint

Now, for the actual makeup, when it comes to foundation, concealer and contour, in this technique I prefer liquid and creamy products rather than powders. The lighter, creamier and more fluid these products are the better.

Highlighter

We could not possibly skip this step in this makeup routine. At this point, I prefer bronzier undertones - this all depends on your own skin tone. for a more natural, effortless effect, test which shade suits you better!

It is advised to place the product mainly on the cheekbones, not so much as the nose, forehead or chin, so your face doesn't look oily.

Glowy vs Oily

At this point, you must be wondering: Should I not use powder at all? In fact, yes, you should, however, the powder is set very strategically - and lightly - on the oily spots of your face, depending from person to person. For most people, it is the T zone!

Now that you’re done with the main part, which is the skin, you can finish off your makeup any way you like! Bonus tip: This look goes really well with soapy brows, glossy lips and iridescence/glossy eyes.

Remember that in order to achieve that glowy effect every day - with or without makeup - it is important to take care of your skin regularly and sticking to a skincare routine that works for you!
