The Skincare That Transformed My Skin

I don’t think I’m the only girl who’s struggled with skin and body changes after moving to Australia—it's not easy keeping up with all the shifts.

Growing up, I was lucky enough to never deal with acne or bad skin, but just five months after moving down under at 24, everything changed. Suddenly, my face was swollen, painful, itchy, and covered in breakouts. I hated not wearing makeup, but when I did, it only made my skin feel worse.

I’m still unsure what caused my skin to break out, but something triggered it and it only kept getting worse no matter what I tried.

After travelling up the East Coast, it was time to find a job, and I found one in a remote town in central Australia. Honestly, I was hoping that getting back into a routine would somehow improve my skin. On my first day, I was lucky enough to meet a beautiful soul who has since become a dear friend—Sophia. She’s a Korean lady herself with that clear glass-like skin.

I was always complimenting her skin and complaining to her about the struggles I was having with my own. Her skincare routine has always been very important to her, and the main piece of advice she gave me was “Double cleanse, double cleanse. It’s very important to me” This sentence plays over in my head multiple times a day. Sophia kindly ordered me some of her skincare as a gift and told me the steps to take morning and night.

Just 3 simple steps, that might sound dramatic but literally changed my life. I felt confident again. People in town started complimenting my skin and I recommended the brand to pretty much anyone that would listen.
