The brand on a mission to encourage responsible consumption.

It comes as no surprise that beauty product waste is at an all-time high but it is upsetting to know that 60% of products end up in the bin unfinished. It is said that on average we each have 114 products in our bathroom cupboard(1) but use only half. What’s worse than heartbreak? I know. Luckily we have Brands such as Convie here to make a change.

With Earth Day last month, numerous brands spoke out about the significance of sustainability and advocated for small-scale changes. GLAMOUR published an article in honour of Earth Day (which you can read here), outlining nine methods to transition towards more sustainable beauty practices, urging consumers to make swaps from opting for bar soap shampoos to supporting brands committed to using solely recycled and reusable packaging.

The beauty industry alone produces 120 billion units of plastic packaging each year with only a mere 9% of it being recycled! Stats like these highlight the importance of using and being a part of brands such as Convie.

Convie is a brand on a mission to encourage more responsible consumption and reduce waste. Now how will they do this? Convie has created a community where members can collaborate to make defined products for specific use. They have a 6 step co-creation process, firstly collaborating with members to identify relevant products based on survey results, which leads to product development. Once the product is in place and decided they are sent off to a manufacturer to create tester samples so feedback can be gathered. Once a product is fully developed, it is sent out to the wider community for approval and a 4 to 6-week pre-launch (tease if we may) to create a buzz and demand before launching to the open market for sales.

Not only does Convie collaborate with members to create defined products for consumer needs, but it also offers a rewards structure for the members whilst only using upcycled products and 90%+ natural ingredients leaving out harsh and damaging chemicals such as silicones.

Their most recent product is their new velvet gloss, a soft and velvety cream gloss with a semi-matte finish. With multi-use features perfect for colouring the lips or cheeks which comes in 3 buildable shades. The gloss also includes ingredients such as coconut oil and sunflower wax which hydrate and nourish the lips and skin.

Not to mention all products are completely vegan and cruelty-free. High-quality products that make you look and feel amazing as well as doing your bit for sustainability. Don’t wait around, make the small swaps now.
