This Wednesday, Acne Studios showcased their Spring Summer collection from Paris.

The collection was staged within an installation by artist Jonathan Lyndon Chase. “Where household objects — lamps, fans, sinks, radios and picture frames are reinterpreted in the artist's dynamic, intuitive style.“

Creative director, Jonny Johansson, wanted to bring the idea of communicating domestic scenarios through clothing to life. This season displayed an enlivening take to casual draping, by creating a playful, yet romantic effect using alternatives of neutral and cooler ‘Spring’ colours, and transparent skin-hugging fabrics.

Each collection put out by acne, makes us constantly rethink and reconsider how we wear everyday items of clothing. This shows itself in this season as slouched neck trench coats, a new take on layering and repurposing casual/ office wear, and practical denim jeans which are balloon-puffed out from the hip — how they turned a classic piece of everyday wear into a showstopper and broke the fashion world this week.

All brought together by the harmonic hair styling and accessorising. Most casual outfits were accompanied by oversized leather clutches, whereas more romantic looks were paired with in-your-face glam, chunky, diamante bangles.

And, of course, they included their signature hint of floral print. (They always know how to get the balance right).

our favourite looks from the collection.
