The Scandi Style Edit

I have been dipping my toe into Scandi styling, and I’m now ready to take off those water wings and dive into the deep end. I am unsure how my love for the aesthetic has taken this long to develop, considering some of my wardrobe treasures are from Scandi-born brands such as Acne Studios, Ganni and Stine Goya. My favourite and most saved outfits come from a long list of Scandi-style influencers, and, admittedly, the shows at Copenhagen Fashion Week inspire me just as much as London.
The Scandi Aesthetic has an ease and eccentricity to outfit building, and having a strong and considered wardrobe filled with fun, bright and creative pieces certainly would assist in the (as Leandra Madine would call) ’Buffet’ styling we have all come to admire.
The British weather is warming up, and I am due to introduce some fresh pieces into my wardrobe, so now is a good time for me to start adding in those hero pieces. Here are my top 10 picks with pieces from Highstreet favourites and it wouldn’t be a scandi edit from me without a sprinkling of Ganni.
Pinstripes are everywhere this season and nothing makes me happier than pj-inspired trousers being on trend. Pair with a graphic tee and your trainers of choice. Mesh Ballet pumps will certainly be a marmite shoe choice this season but I love the vibe they give and how they will add interest to an outfit (make sure you remember to paint those toes).
Add in some pops of colour with this reversible vest from Kirti, perfect layered over a white tee and jeans combo and let’s not overlook this effortless shirt dress from Arket as it truly is a one-piece wonder.
Leopard print is another trend popping up on my feed and as I’m not quite ready to sport the leopard print jeans, this blouse from Ganni is a perfect piece to try out the trend. Soft blue is a recurring favourite of mine this season and I love a wardrobe staple with a twist. This Blazer from Stradivarius gives Stine Goya vibes without the price tag.
Denim jackets for s/s are nothing new but the cut of this H&M piece elevates the style. Wide cuffs, longer hem and tie waist add to that effortless aesthetic we are trying to achieve. The mesh ballet flats make another appearance with a slight change in design. This black mesh and embellished pair of flats from Mango would be a perfect ‘dressier’ alternative. Lastly, the quilted bags from COS were spotted everywhere on the streets during Copenhagen Fashion Week. Fun, easy-going and practical… (Adds to cart).
